House closed today, no more Casa Fuchsia. Bittersweet (oxymoron alert). Meanwhile we are settling in at Casita Nueva in Palo Alto where patio gardening is ringing my bells. So far: rosemary, lime thyme, mother of thyme, dusky pink and scarlet dahlias, petunias, ivy geraniums, eight different fuchsia hybrids, lobelia, nasturtiums and clematis.
Jim plays chess again tomorrow afternoon. He continues to enjoy the challenges and, as long as that is the case, well, yeehaw I say.

Meeting a friend for lunch Saturday. I'm told it's important not to isolate myself as I care for Jim. Okie dokie. Heh, Jim may feel a similar need -- maybe that's what chess is in aid of for him.
Jim no longer is reading much more than the daily newspaper and he sometimes skips that except for the, yes, chess column. We still get the dead-tree Sunday NYT but he reads very little of it (no chess column).
I'm sure no bittersweet would dare intrude its tangles on your patio.
