Jim was stood up by his chess opponent this afternoon so he watched other players, then came home early. We sat outside for a bit with our tea. Sounds old-fartish, no?!
The patio garden gradually is taking shape. The (modest) horticultural index thus far:
- fuchsias (surprise)
- begonias
- lobelia
- dahlias
- rosemary
- thyme
- nasturtium
- petunias
- clematis
- sweet potato vine
- black sweet potato vine
- lantana
- variegated helichrysum
The support group (for caretakers of terminally ill) meets every Friday morning; today's session was good, they aren't always. Meanwhile, lupus is in full flare and I've been ill. I resist taking prednisone which is the miracle med for lupus. I try to balance the pain, discomfort and fatigue of lupus against the god-awful side effects of prednisone (hyperness, anxiety, inability to relax or focus, increased appetite, facial swelling, and the worst: insomnia). But the rheumatologist kept repeating phrases such as "systemic organ failure" so I have acquiesced.
