Meltdown

I had a meltdown a couple of days ago. Fortitude, it seems, is not bottomless and I succumbed to grief, lack of love and attention, and, most especially, anger. Enough said.

Jim has perked up a bit. This is par for the course after a Kat meltdown. I am learning how to better work with him. If I ask, "did you eat something?" he'll respond he doesn't remember. But, if I ask if he's hungry (a current, in-the-moment state) he's able to reply with useful info (yes, no, maybe, not so much). Instead of waiting around for him to do something, I assign tasks, e.g., load dishwasher, hang up jackets, sweep patio, massage my feet (!), etc. He seems to be grateful to do useful tasks but requires prompting.

Street construction and patio renovation ongoing. Grateful to be escaping to Napa five days over xmas.

Gloomy, rainy here in Palo Alto. Must hasten to add that is a good thing in our drought-stricken environs; if I don't someone inevitably will take me to task.

We are getting close to kitty-renewal time. Speed the day! Living sans fur person is undesirable.
