I will be posting my less devastating posts to Facebook. Thus some here may see duplication. Just pretend you need new glasses. Also, in this case particularly, duplication is a good thing because it means I am finding the humor in horror.
Episode LLXVII in Kat's Annals of Demented Living
Recycling and composting is stringently mandated and regulated by the somewhat self-righteous town of Palo Alto in California where we live. "Real" garbage is frowned upon but tolerated. There are close to infinite rules and gradations for what is permitted in each category and in what quantity. And, the town employs inspectors!
I laugh only half-heartedly when I say to friends I need another college degree, preferably a PhD, to adhere properly to the rules. Which may, in fact, be appropriate for Palo Alto since it is Stanford's hometown. NOW THEN, imagine explaining this to Jim who INSISTS on "taking out the garbage." Ay de mi (Spanish for woe is me).
