Received word from MetLife that Jim’s claim for longterm-care was approved. Uncertain as to monthly amount but will be significant although won’t cover entire monthly invoice of $15K. The costs of this care are scary.
It’s all Ho-Ho-Ho at the old farts home, And, I am SO SO SO un-ho. Jim and I usually escaped the holidays to Point Reyes or Big Sur. Nancy will help this year; she flies in from Brooklyn on Boxing Day and we two repair to Big Sur on the 27th. Bliss on the horizon.
I continue bereft and my stiff upper lip has collapsed entirely. I alternate between wallowing in grief and supreme denial. I am betwixt and between.
