A less inspiring observation from our Santa Fe trip of only five nights is the realization that travel is getting more difficult for Jim and new places aren't especially comfortable for him. If you google "dementia and travel," many advise caution when traveling and suggest one ought not to travel if not necessary. Well, in her own immortal words, fuck that shit.

Nevertheless, I have moved the Fiji expedition from next May to this September: 19 Sept - 1 Oct. The trip of a lifetime (or two) so we may as well do it when we both are in modestly decent shape(ish).

So, Fiji in September; Point Reyes in October and November (well known to Jim so pretty comfy for him); Yucatan coast in January at Maroma near Playa del Carmen. I confess I am thinking of an Africa see-the-animals-and-birds safari in April. We'll see how Jim is doing.  I am hoping the high-end safaris will be easier for Jim with lots of caring eyes looking after him.
