Our second childhoods can't be too far in the offing since both of us are inordinately amused by Sparky going in and out his kitty door. To the extent that we've taken to herding Sparky into and out the door so we can giggle. Cheap entrainment.
Researching African see-the-animals-and-birds safari. Looks to be a 13-day trip flying Virgin upper class (frequent flyer miles) SFO/LHR/JNB and back. Two days in Johannesburg to decompress from jet lag, followed by five days at Singita Boulders in Sabi Sand Reserve, then another five days at Singita Lebombo in Kruger National Park. Jim safaried with his father in Kenya in 1990 but this will will be my first African experience. Why, yes, I am tres excited.
Meanwhile, daily life reverts to the mundane of chores, errands, etc. Except we hosted good neighbors for drinks (and how) over the weekend. Laura also is in the neighborhood book group. She and Graham are finest kind.
Jim recently won a particularly difficult round of chess so he's very chuffed.
