Magnus the MagnifiCat

We finally are catted up again, and to great and good effect. Magnus the MagnifiCat has been with us a little over three days. As expected, he spent much of the first two days under the bed, emerging on brief scouting expeditions and occasional excursions to the kitchen sink where he demanded water from the faucet. This third day he is quite the man about town, poking his nose everywhere and expressing discontent when we won't open closet doors for him.

Just now he is ensconced at my side expecting pets and scratches which are legion in response. Plushest cat ever.  Eating well although, for the nonce, he's not kibble-thrilled but scarfs up tender vittles and canned food. Prefers his water in a thin stream from the kitchen faucet, has done his business satisfactorily in the correct place AND slept with us last night.

Jim is eager to be friends but is trying to be not too friendly or make abrupt movements around Magnus. Jim is a bit clumsy around Magnus, often reaching for him abruptly and wanting to pick him up. Former Jim would have been quiet, gentle and would have waited for cat to come to him. BUT Jim is SO excited we have a cat again, and such a fine one as is Magnus.

Must thank the fabulous people of the Peninsula Humane Society who cared for Magnus for months before we were able to give him a home. We made a donation in honor of their service.

You know, there just might be a god ... and it very likely is furry.
