In the Face of Adversity

You know, all those people who are graceful in the face of adversity, ever patiently providing care 24/7, consider caring for a disabled beloved a gift rather than a burden? I am not one of them. Also, I'm not so sure those other guys are, either. But perhaps I project.

Outing to the nursery today to stock up for spring planting: pelargonia, thyme, lobelia, creeping Jenny, gypsophilla, lantana, strawberry, lithodora. Coming from out-of-town nurseries in Mendocino County and Oregon: clematis, artemisia, fuchsias, erigeron. Gardening, even my greatly reduced patio efforts, cheers me up. Flowers, greenery, growth! Plus, it creates tasks easy enough for Jim to pursue on his own so I need not be involved.

I am very close here at the Old Farts Home to penning a vicious rant on the the topic of raisins in oatmeal cookies: No! Not! Indecent! Sacrilege! Barbarous!  and Nasty! Also, Sad!
